AudioCluster Bremen has been intitiated by Martin Koplin (M2C Institute for Applied Media Research), Georg Sichma (Audio and Art) and Prof. Dr. Helmut Eirund (University of Applied Sciences Bremen), in cooperation with their partners in the fields of science, economy, education and art. This joint venture of leading Bremen businesses, researchers and artists aims at the development of innovative projects between art, education, science and economy and to launch new Bremen procucts.
Core areas are:
A) Sound design (audio brands, film music, automative audio, sound & multimedia, audio art)
B) Audio tool development (software, hardware, psycho acoustic and audio research)
C) Audio distribution
D) Think tank Sendesaal "Music Village"
E) Educative media for all age-groups
The approx. 30 participants of the sector-specific round table, which took place on January 15th Januar 2009 for the first time and on April 14th 2009 for the second time, are important players of the Bremen Audio-Scene, who work regionally and internationally. For the initiators, essential results of the AudioCluster Bremen were the cultivation of synergies and the formation of innovative key aspects to be intensified in Bremen cooperations. For Bremen, AudioCluster is important also as a stepping stone for EU research programs (7.FRP) and projects of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as well as the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). Creative projects between sound and informatics and the development of new educative media for children and teenagers are planned as well. The AudioCluster’s further objectives are public presentations, scientific articles and the establishment of a Bremen Innovation Zone.
The round table meetings take place quarterly; in between the meetings, project-oriented meetings are scheduled.
